Recab sponsoring master’s degree project (JuRP)

JuRP – The Juggling Robotic Project! A robotic system that can juggle without any human controlling. Recab are proud sponsors of this project conducted by mechatronic students at KTH (The Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm.

This is a project conducted by mechatronic students at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (The Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm. They wanted to try and build a robotic system that can juggle without any human controlling. Our contribution to this project is through sponsoring with two industrial color cameras with lenses. The cameras equip the robot with object recognition, depth estimation and trajectory estimation.

The project was originally started in 2018 and continued in 2020 by this third generation design team consisting of:

The camera used in this application: DFK 33UP1300 - USB 3.0 Industrial Color Camera by The Imaging Source

  • 1,280×1,024 (1.3 MP), up to 210 fps
  • Global shutter
  • Trigger and I/O inputs
  • Windows and Linux software included
