Crane Operator for US

Crane operator The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation. The candidate is responsible for safely and efficiently lifting and moving/relocating components for wind turbines. This includes offloading and backloading of personnel, equipment and supplies, etc. from water vessels as well as moving heavy or bulky materials throughout the rig, various storerooms and to and from the rig floor and work area. The operator will be responsible for moving parts such as wings, nacelle, blades etc. from a shaky foundation. The Crane Operator is responsible for lift as well as for the supervision and training of the trainees or customers.

Your profile:
You are an examined machinist, electrician, or mechanic, or have another relevant background. Furthermore, you have experience within the wind industry including heavy lifting and preferably, offshore installation with a lift of main components. You are an experienced operator of blade lifting yokes, nacelle lifting yokes, tower grippers, and tagline systems.

  • A good communicator in English

Professional skills:

  • Driver's license
  • Crane certificate

  • Truck/manitou certificate
  • GWO certificate for offshore:
    - Manual handling
    - Working at heights
    - First aid
    - Fire awareness
    - Sea survival
    - HUEY / OPTICO

Duties/Responsibilities:​

  • Operating cranes to lift, move or place equipment and materials 
  • Operate a variety of material-moving equipment and coordinate with OP managers
  • Contact with the rest of the team according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly.
  • Provide additional support to other operators as necessary, including working overtime to complete tasks, operating several types of equipment and training, or monitoring junior operators.
  • Maintenance on Equipment and troubleshooting
  • Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the work environment.
  • Implement health and safety standards when carrying out job operations to ensure public and environmental safety.
  • Besides the following, we also expect you to have an OGUK certificate
  • Working and living on a remote, confined, work place for a lengthy time, sometimes as long as four weeks. The most common combination is 3 weeks at home and 3 weeks out on site
  • Working for 12 hour workdays or nights.
  • Working uninterrupted work schedules that includes holidays.
  • Able to work world wide.
  • May be transported by helicopter or boat to and from the job site.
  • Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Being sturdy and being able to handle multiple tasks
  • Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis.
