 To support the growth and development of Muehlhan Wind Service, as the organization continues to expand its presence across new countries and regions, we are now searching for a Corporate Tax Manager. 

With direct reference to the Chief Legal Officer of Muehlhan Wind Service, you will become a member of the Corporate Tax team in the Tax department; a specialized function that is intended to become knowledge-center and support-hub for the Wind-division’s tax matters. With Muehlhan Wind Service as of today having offices and entities in a range of countries and regions of the world, the need for a specialized corporate tax function, capable of organizing and managing our corporate structure, corporate tax matters, and our inter-company and transfer-pricing setup is a high-priority task.

An international position with room to grow

In your daily work, you will work in close alignment with stakeholders functions within the Wind-division, such as Finance, Operations, Legal and Sales, but also with stakeholders from the group, and stakeholders from the organizations that have been acquired through M&A activities over the past couple of years and are now being integrated into the Wind division group of entities. 

You will be employed in Muehlhan Wind Service A/S, a Danish entity headquartered and run out of Fredericia, Denmark, but will in your daily work cooperate internationally with staff employed across the organization’s entities.

To succeed in your role, you will be supported by staff from various functions, but will also have to be able to perform and drive through work-tasks yourself.

Primary responsibilities:

As Corporate Tax Manager, your overall job responsibility is to help set up and design the inter-company infrastructure of the organization, oversee and govern the organization’s tax matters, and to provide competent business support and guidance to the organization within the area of taxation, with the aim of creating optimal solutions, mitigating risk-exposure and heightening general tax awareness and understanding. Tax guidance is in this sense understood broadly, as encompassing both direct and indirect corporate taxes, duties, levies and fees, to the extent that they have an impact on daily business.

The role is expected to develop over time, as the organization develops. Initially, your focus areas will be:

  • Help design and setup up the corporate structure and inter-company structure of the organization.
  • Investigate and help plan cross-border working models from a tax, risk, TP and practical perspective, in collaboration with colleagues from various departments. 
  • Help provide guidance on tax matters and in the preparation of descriptions of working-models for future use-cases. In this regard, also helping to develop or expand the organization’s current practices from a tax perspective.
  • Manage communication with external tax specialists in relation to corporate tax matters.
  • Support in reviewing and considering M&A activities of the organization from a tax and IC perspective.
  • In cooperation with other stakeholders of the organization, investigate and monitor tax regulation developments, internationally as well as across relevant markets.
  • Through support and guidance, help increase the general in-house knowledge among employees on tax matters and assist in setting up practical solutions for handling of inter-company dealings on a day-to-day basis.
  • Support in caretaking for the transfer-pricing obligations of the Wind-division’s entities.
  • In cooperation with other stakeholders of the organization, assess and manage PE-related tax obligations arising from continued presence in new markets.

Qualifications and competences: 

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • Have a background in law or finance, and preferably 5-10 years of experience with international taxation and the needs of international organizations.
  • Have a good understanding of international corporate tax, corporate structuring and transfer-pricing.
  • Can communicate professionally in english both written and oral.
  • Be self-driven, structured, capable of working independently, and able to plan your day and your work in an efficient manner.
  • Be capable of reading and understanding information of various levels of complexity, of which a considerable part will be complex information, and creating workable solutions from this, as well as presenting this information to others in layman’s terms.
  • Possess strong social skills, enabling you to successfully manage dialogue with various stakeholders, hereunder senior management representatives, work in team-settings and succeed with the tasks that you set out to do. 
  • Thrive with the handling of tasks and assignments that are of a contemplative and structured nature, but also have the mental fortitude to stay agile and flexible in your work-approach, as urgent operational tasks may impact your daily planning.
  • Be content with being part of an organization that is growing and developing, with the advantages and disadvantages that this brings.

In addition to the above, it is a plus if:

  • You as a person are approachable, sociable and pragmatic, but also capable of staying firm, when circumstances demand it.
  • You have some level of knowledge and proficiency within indirect taxes, hereunder VAT.
  • You have prior experiences in dealing with M&A from a tax perspective and international tax planning, hereunder capitalization rules.
